Beethoven’s NinthSponsored by Battelle Series: Classical
Günther Herbig, conductor Beethoven - Symphony No. 9, "Choral" Join us as we open the new season in dramatic fashion! Günther Herbig leads the orchestra and the Columbus Symphony Chorus for one of Beethoven’s immortal classics, Symphony No. 9. Though at the end of his life, and mostly deaf, Beethoven insisted on conducting the premiere of this work in 1824. The fourth movement of this "Choral" symphony features the famous "Ode to Joy" theme. Don’t miss this three-night event! Venue: Ohio Theatre |
